Echo + Ember

Effective June 27, 2026

Privacy Policy

Echo + Ember is designed to help you save and revisit faith-based notes, reflections, sermon uploads, Bible-note references, and daily check-ins. Your spiritual notes may be deeply personal, so this policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who helps us process it, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

We may collect account information such as your email address or sign-in identifier, profile details you choose to provide, subscription status, app settings, notification preferences, and usage records needed to operate limits such as upload counts.

We also collect the content you choose to save in Echo + Ember, including typed notes, sermon details, Bible-note references, uploaded photos, camera captures, voice reflections, daily check-ins, themes, titles, generated summaries, and related memory-bank organization.

Photos, Audio, Notes, and Sensitive Reflections

When you choose to upload photos or record audio, Echo + Ember uses those files to create and organize your saved memory bank. We understand that faith reflections, prayer notes, personal check-ins, and church notes can reveal sensitive beliefs or personal circumstances. We use this content to provide the app features you request, such as storing memories, extracting text, transcribing audio, organizing themes, and returning relevant Echoes to you.

AI, OCR, and Transcription Processing

Echo + Ember may process your uploaded notes, photos, voice reflections, and check-ins to extract text, organize themes, transcribe audio, summarize your saved content, and create Daily Echo + Ember reflections. This processing happens through server-side infrastructure and trusted processors, not directly from the mobile app. AI-generated output can be incomplete or imperfect, so you should review important content.

Bible References

Echo + Ember is intended to store Bible references, such as Romans 12:6-8, rather than licensed Bible passage text. Bible text is not embedded into your memory bank by default for processing.

Subscriptions and Payments

Purchases and subscription management are handled through Apple and RevenueCat. Echo + Ember receives subscription status information so the app can unlock paid features. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.

How We Use Information

We use information to provide and secure Echo + Ember, authenticate users, process uploads, generate and organize memory-bank content, provide subscriptions, prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors, improve reliability, send notifications you allow, respond to support requests, and comply with legal obligations.

Notifications

If you enable notifications, Echo + Ember may send reminders such as daily check-in prompts or memory-bank reminders. You can change notification permissions in your device settings and app settings.

Service Providers

Echo + Ember uses trusted service providers for authentication, database storage, file storage, subscriptions, app distribution, crash reporting, analytics, and server-side AI, OCR, and transcription processing. These may include providers such as Supabase, OpenAI, RevenueCat, Apple, Expo, Vercel, and Sentry. These providers are used to operate, secure, support, and improve the app.

No Sale of Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your saved sermon notes, photos, voice reflections, or check-ins for third-party advertising.

Data Retention

We keep account and memory-bank content while your account is active or as needed to provide the app. Some operational records, logs, billing records, backups, and security records may be retained for a limited period after deletion where needed for security, legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes.

Account Deletion

You can request deletion of your account from the Account page in the app. Deleting your account is intended to remove your account, saved notes, uploads, and memory bank data, subject to backups, legal requirements, and records needed for security or billing compliance.

Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect your information. No online service can guarantee perfect security, but Echo + Ember is built to keep your personal memory bank private to your account. Please protect your device, app account, and Apple/Google sign-in credentials.

International Processing

Echo + Ember and its service providers may process information in the United States or other locations where our providers operate. By using the app, you understand that your information may be processed outside your state, province, or country.

Children

Echo + Ember is not directed to children under 13. If child or household profile features are used in the future, the account owner is responsible for managing access and permissions.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app changes. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.
